Two women found dead in Etobicoke home, police searching for relative

Toronto police were called to a home in the area of Sheldon Avenue and Silvercrest Avenue for a well-being check shortly before 1 p.m. on Friday, according to Det.-Sgt. Jason Davis of the police's homicide unit. A relative of the two women, not the accused, called police because the person was concerned for their safety, he added.

When officers arrived, they found two women, aged 82 and 60, injured in the home. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The family of Tylor Coore, a 32-year-old Afro-Indigenous man from Whitebear First Nation, has identified him as the man police shot in Cabbagetown Tuesday. They're now fighting for justice, saying he had mental health issues and guns should never have been involved.

A Toronto woman says she is grateful to be alive after she was attacked by two unleashed dogs in Etobicoke on Wednesday evening.

Anita Browne, 54, said she was bitten on her face and her arm as she stood waiting for a TTC bus in the area of Martin Grove Road and John Garland Boulevard before 8:40 p.m. Her right arm was broken in the attack.

Those services end on Nov. 30 because the current owner has changed the building's business model. Now 18 residents remain, living in fear of what's to come. The rest have moved into homes with their families or even a motel room.
